  if you had a close relative or friend that told you they were getting baptized as a jw, would you try to influence their decision or just let it go.

  my sister told me recently that she is getting baptized.

  i'm undecided about what to do... if anything.

  Let me ask this question another way:

  If you had a friend getting baptized, what are the first 3 (simple) points you'd share with them? (or questions to ask them a la Reasoning Book style)

  Yes, she did ask me what I think about it. I told her I would support her decision whatever that is. But that doesn't mean I can't still share a few other thoughts. She's not much of a student, so she's not going to read books with an opposing view.

  If you had a close relative or friend that told you they were getting baptized as a JW, would you try to influence their decision or just let it go. My sister told me recently that she is getting baptized. I'm undecided about what to do... if anything. She said she'll "still talk to me" even if she gets baptized but I'm sure that won't happen since my brother is a very 'by the book' elder and will reign her in. I think that I should speak now or forever hold my peace. I don't want to unduly influence her, but perhaps just share a few points to present a little more balanced view of what she's really getting in to. What would you do?

  i just read a quote from our poster "albert einstein".

  he wrote the wt from 1989 stated that armageddon will occur within the 20th centurie.. ist that information correct????.

  Who cares if they're shrinking or growing. The only thing that matters is if they're teaching the truth or not. At certain times in history, there were only a few or even one person pleasing God.

  there is something really bugging me at the moment, and i`m feeling being on the verge of a big depression.. first of all excuse me for possibible language mistakes.

  english isn`t my native speech.. during my approx.

  9 years as a jw (including the 2 years of bible study), i never had one single date with a sister!!!

  i think we need to start a project to piece together the menu from an early nineties circuit assembly...would be strangely nostalgic.. i got myself a "worldly" education and took that opportunity to leave "the troof".

  burrito, what was it, 8 tickets?

  I don't know, but we didn't make those... they were frozen and all we'd do is wrap them in aluminum foil then cook them.
